Attorneys
LARRY ADJETEY LLB (Legon)., LLM (University College of London), BL., a founding Partner of Law Trust Company and Notary Public with extensive experience in corporate and commercial practice, advising major international and local banks and companies. He has specific employment experience in the petroleum, energy and real estate sectors. His ambit over the years have covered, tax, trusts and pensions, financial services advisory work associated in particular with Public Finance, Trade Finance, Infrastructure Finance and other types of project finance work in Ghana, Nigeria and the La Cote D' Ivoire. He has been the Chairman of State Insurance Company Ghana Limited (SIC) an Insurance Company, the largest Insurance Company in Ghana, was a Director of the Volta River Authority, Non-Performing Assets Recovery Trust (NPART), a member of the Council of Law Reporting and also served on boards of various private companies. Larry is the Managing Partner and coordinator of the Central and Business support group. ALBAN BAGBIN B.A. (LAW), had wide experience in general advocacy at the trial and appellate levels as a partner in Akyem Chambers from 1983 to 1993. He was the Chairman of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Mines. He was also Chairman of the Water Sector Restructuring Advisory Committee. He played a major role in the restructuring of GRATIS with our Barima Manu, a DANIDA assisted programme to promote intermediate technology in Ghana. He was a Director of the Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority, National Communications Authority, Veterinary Council and Member of the National Media Commission. He has acted as Secretary/Legal Advisor to a number of companies and Stools. He is currently Member of Parliament for Nadowli North and is the Minority Leader for Parliament. KYERETWIE OPOKU LLB, has worked primarily in trans-border investments, including two (2) years at the U.N. as Assistant to the Chief Legal Advisor on Trans-national Corporations developing models for market-oriented investment regimes for LDC Governments. He provided support to such Governments in negotiations with Trans-national mining and petroleum investors. He was Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation for five (5) years. He was a Director of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (National Pension Fund), as well as several private companies. As a partner in Law Trust Company KY has been involved in the Business Support Group, his focus is now on law and institutional issues in development and he operates as a key member of the Rights and Social Advocacy Group in addition to Civic Response an NGO he founded in 2003.BARIMA MANU LLB., has extensive experience in corporate and commercial practice including negotiation of commercial and business contracts and other varied Agreements. He joined the firm in 1995 and was instrumental in the acquisition of a Best Western status by the Elmina Beach Resort at Cape Coast by providing expert legal opinion to our client. He has varied drafting experience of commercial and business contracts and other Agreements including a loan Agreement involving a major Bank in Ghana and a reputable hotel running into Millions of Dollars. Barima Manu conducts trials and argues appellate briefs and has a vide knowledge of Ghanaian transport law. Barry has been the head of chambers responsible for General Adminstration of the firm and Practice Management and Client Care within the Central Support Group when he joined the Board of Directors of Law Trust. Barry is a key member of the Business Support Group.
SAMUEL MICHAELAND CODJOE LLB., has a wide experience and expertise in Commercial Practice, Litigation, Corporate and Business Law Practice. Samuel Michaeland Codjoe has been with the firm since 1994 and has been involved in landmark court cases. Samuel popularly known as "Tom Sawyer" coordinates Litigation and Advocacy within the Central Support Group. Tom is also a key member of the Business Support Group as well as the Rights and Social Advocacy Group.
NANA OYE LITHUR LLB, LLM., is a member of the firm's corporate team. She has extensive experience in corporate and commercial practice including project financing, tax, banking and debt financing transactions, negotiation and preparation of tender bids, structuring corporate bodies, company secretarial duties and general advocacy.
Nana Oye Lithur has been with the firm since 1996 and recently evolved to become a major authority on gender rights and social advocacy issues not only in Ghana but Africa as a whole. Nana Oye is now the Co-ordinator of the Africa office, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative.
FRED ASARE-DANQUAH LLB., was admitted to the Ghana Bar in October 1998 and joined the firm the same month and year. Education: University of Ghana (LLB 1996); Ghana School of Law (BL 1998). Practice Area: Corporate, Property and Commercial Law, Criminal and Civil Litigation, Investment, Drafting and Conveyancing. Member: Ghana Bar Association and Lions Clubs International. Fred is a Senior Associate in the Business Support Group. Fred has been given the additional responsibility to assist the Head of Chambers in matters relating to Practice Managment and Client Care.INUSAH ABDULAI B. FUSEINI LLB., was admitted to the Ghana Bar in October 2000 and joined the firm the same year. Education: University of Ghana (1998); Ghana School of Law (BL 2000). Practice Area: Corporate, Property and Commercial Law, Criminal and Civil Litigation, Investment, Drafting and Conveyancing. Invited by the Faculty of Law as Teaching Assistant (2000 - 2001); Member: Ghana Bar Association. Inusah is a Senior Associate in both the Business Support Group and the Rights and Social Advocacy Group. Inusah has also recently been appointed to manage the Documentation and Research Unit within the Central Support Group. EDWARD AMISSAH NUNOO, B.A. (Hons), Customs Techniques (Tokyo), M.A. International Affairs. Eddie is a member of the Business Support Group. With his background in senior management with Ghana Customs, Eddie provides excellent support for the tax unit in matters relating to Customs and Value Added Tax. JAMES MENSAH KULLEY, James is an Associate in the Rights and Social Advocacy Group and has been involved in providing legal advice and litigation for the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and other gender and social rights groups. James was counsel in the celebrated case of _. James also has some Corporate and Commercial practice experience, including tax, debt recovery, negotiating and drafting tender documents, registration of investors, structuring and incorporating of companies, partnership and joint venture, advising and giving legal opinion to clients, Investigation of title to land, negotiation and drafting of Leases, administration of estate matters, drafting of Wills and various legal documents, arbitration, advocacy at the trial and appellate levels of the court of Ghana.
